ENVIRONMENT • Meeting promoted by the Government with indigenous communities to obtain support to construct a road throughout a national park failed by absence of representatives of the indigenous people. With this attempt the government was trying to divide communities.

LA PAZ, Bolivia .— The government announced that a meeting will be held on another future date with all the representations of the National Park.

The president of the national park communities, Adolfo Moye had advanced he would not participate in the meeting.

"We don’t have anything to discuss about the highway project while the Bolivian Highway Administrator (ABC) does not change the stroke of the second tranche of the way road."
Rosa Chao, female representative of indigenous communities Yurakarés, Trinitarians, Chimanes and Mojeños after a tour on the communities said:
"The National Park inhabitants asked the government to implement a referendum for execution of the work."
The National Park has 64 communities with an estimated of 11 000 people.
