LA PAZ , Bolivia .— The gas prices will vary according to the international price of oil, said Bolivian Secretary of Economy and Public Finance, Luis Arce Catacora.
This decision will be permanent to stop gasoline and diesel smuggling to neighboring countries.
Arce explained that there were two reasons to raise the price of gasoline and diesel. First, smuggling of gasoline, and second, increase the production of fuel liquids.
Luis Arce Catacora said:
"What did the neighbors is to index the price for fuel oil to internationals prices, when a barrel of oil was $ 140 they paid this for it. We are going to be in that same logic. (The price) will be indexed."
