Morales says he is obliged to prevent leakage of economic resources and ensures that he will not abandon Bolivian workers

RISING UP LIQUID FUEL PRICES • Bolivian President Evo Morales said Monday that it is an obligation of any government to prevent the leakage of economic resources of the country and assured to workers that he will not abandon them.

LA PAZ , Bolivia .— His government raised up the price of gasoline and diesel because of smuggling of them the border countries. It was a necessity. He justified as follows:

"This taken action is not to harm anyone, the President, the Government will never leave workers, we have concrete proposals for moving forward, but we can not let the money keep trickling out for smuggling, corruption. It is our obligation to care for the national economy. "
Morales said that the raising of the liquid fuel prices mean a saving of public expenditure, to remember that just this year the subsidy on gasoline and diesel reached $ 380 million, most of which, 150 million, benefiting smugglers.

Morales stated:

"Apart from the subsidy there are smugglers and most of the year we lose about 150 million dollars, these money go abroad. That money should stay here. Of course, we will spend with the municipalities in productive projects ".
