Intelligence officer former General of the Bolivian police Roberto Sanabria Oropeza is caught in Panama for drug trafficking

PANAMA, Panama .— Roberto Sanabria Oropeza, retired police general and official of Information Generation Unit and Intelligence Center was arrested on Wednesday 23 in Panama under the association of being a drug dealer.

Roberto Sanabria Oropeza was handed over to U.S. drug authorities since his capture was made possible by a joint operation between the DEA and Panamanian police.

Over former police general weighed an international arrest warrant, and when it was executed, was in the company of Bolivian Juan Foronda Azero, who has at least two records for drug trafficking.

Between 2007 and 2008, Sanabria Oropeza served as national director of the Special Force against Drug Trafficking, and being promoted in 2009 to the rank of general.

A source at the Police General Command said that Sanabria was invited to work in the Secretary of Government in February last year.
