SUCRE, Bolivia .— The case was made public at the hearing yesterday, as part of the trial of responsibilities remains to Sanchez de Lozada and his collaborators for the slaughter of September and October 2003.
Prosecutor Milton Mendoza, informed that the disclosure occurred in the reading of the exculpatory evidence presented by the former army commander, Gen. Juan Veliz.
"In the exculpatory evidence he makes see that the former Finance Secretary Javier Comboni, the night of October 13, 2003 was at the General Command of the Army with two suitcases full of money that was divided among the military high command."In the mobilizations in defense of the gas, the Armed Forces troops fired bullets of war against the people who ware in the streets, killing over 60 people and 400 wounded.
Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada, on October 17, 2003 put his resignation to the National Congress and then fled to the United States.
Gen. Juan Veliz Herrera, charged of slaughter in September and October 2003 at the trial of responsibility against Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada, is detained preventively in the prison of San Roque of Sucre city.
