Bolivian YPFB announced that British Gas will invest U.S. $ 500 million until 2015 in exploration and marketing

GAS • The president of the Bolivian YPFB, Carlos Villegas announced Tuesday afternoon that the British Gas company will invest up to 2015 at least 500 million dollars in exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons.

LA PAZ, Bolivia .— Villegas said that the British company is committed to joining bolivian development plan and work programs of YPFB.

"British Gas in the fields it operates at 100%, will make an investment of approximately $ 131 million until 2015 and in large fields as Caipipendi and Itaú will invest approximately $ 369 million, making a total of 500 million dollars. "

"It will enable us to meet the domestic market, both consumer and industrialization also commitments to the markets of Brazil and Argentina."

Meanwhile Jeremy Browne said it was an opportunity "to strengthen solidarity relations between Britain and Bolivia for the benefit of both parties."

In addition, Browne reported that there are more British companies that want to contribute to Bolivia in investments.

"We believe that a relationship of great benefit can increase prosperity and create more jobs."
