Bolivian prosecutor Mr. Ganam ordered arrest of Jose Luis Paredes

CORRUPTION • The decision covers at least 14 real property, seven vehicles and businesses, for a case of laundering of illicit proceeds.

ACHACACHI, Bolivia.- The prosecutor Fernando Ganam issued an order of urgency ordering the notations of at least 14 real properties, seven vehicles and businesses like RadioCiudad broadcasting station and Café Ciudad restaurant owned by José Luis Paredes.

The 1st Criminal Court Chamber of the Supreme Court decided notations such property under the trial of responsibility that follows the former authority for the crime of laundering of illicit proceeds of $ 1.7 million.

The defendant explained that the $ 1.7 million were part of the Union Solidarity Foundation, which belongs to his family.

Jose Luis Paredes left the country in December going to Argentina. Ganam explained that the judicial orders in these cases can be headed for trial following a declaration of default.
