LA PAZ , Bolivia. — The strike called today against president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, to demand a salary increase greater than five percent ended with a dynamite attack the Ministry of Labour.

The Police Commander, Colonel Cyrus Farfán, told the media that 15 workers were arrested.

The strike, organized by the Central Obrera Boliviana (COB), the largest in the country, was followed by teachers, factory workers and health workers, municipal workers, college and even Entel nationalized telephone workers.

One of workers leaders, Angel Asturizaga, acknowledged that there was excess in protest against the Ministry of Labour, but justified it and expressed anger against former trade unionists who are now senior government officials.

In particular, he referred to the Minister of Labour, Carmen Trujillo, and his predecessor Calixto Chipana, current national director of Labour leaders who were factory workers.
