Morales announces trip to the U.S. to deliver to UN findings of CMPCC

TRAVEL • Bolivia’s President, Evo Morals Ayma, will travel to UN offices to deliver World People's Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth conclutions.

LA PAZ , Bolivia. — President Evo Morales announced that he will travel to New York, to headquarters of the United Nations (UN) Organization, to deliver to the secretary general the conclusions of the First World People's Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth (CMPCC), held in the Tiquipaya, Bolivian from 20 to 22 April.

In a press conference, the Head of State reported that the request for hearing with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, to deliver the findings, was accepted.

"Tomorrow afternoon I am traveling to the United States, to the United Nations headquarters. Our request for a hearing with the Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, has been accepted. We are scheduled for a hearing on Friday".
Presidente Morales also said:
"This conference in Cochabamba has not been in vain. Happily it is being heard by the UN…"
Morales announced that he was also invited to deliver the findings in the "G-77 group and China. He also opened the possibility to present the report at the Summit of Latin America, the Caribbean and the European Union to be held in Spain.

The World People's Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth of Cochabamba determined, among its findings encourage the creation of a climate justice court, a referendum in 2011, and the reduction of up to 50% of emissions of greenhouse gases.
