LA PAZ, Bolivia. —Velasquez said, before making any determination, he will request information from Immigration office to verify the departure of Jorge Tuto Quiroga and define the rescheduling of his statement.
"Today at 8:45 we received a memorandum of justification for failure to attend, which sought the postponement of the date of declaration, because according to the document Tuto Quiroga would not be in the country but also in Spain and then will go to Chile to continue with a series of events, " told reporters.
The Public Ministry is investigating the fate of tens of millions of dollars under "reserved expenses" between 1985 and 2005.
