Ecuador expels U.S. ambassador for saying that "corruption is widespread in the ranks of the Ecuadorian Police"

GUAYAQUIL, Ecuador .— According to the leaked document in Wikileaks, the police Jaime Hurtado Vaca "used his power as the highest authority of the body to extort", accumulate money, facilitating human trafficking and to protect others involved in corruption.

The U.S. State Department revoked the visa of entry to the United States available to Hurtado, his wife and daughter, issued in June 2008 and valid until June 2013.

Information about the Ecuadorian police signed by Ambassador Heather Hodges, said that the practice punish a lot of the Ecuadorian people to pay bribes to perform any management at the bureaucracy of the state.

The diplomatic cable lists, in chronological order, the crimes attributed to Howard and his accomplices in the police, which allegedly protected when internal investigations are threatened.
