Government seeks consensus to start construction of road through indigenous Park Isiboro Secure

ANTHROPIC ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE • The Bolivian government Headed by the Public Works Secretary, Walter Delgadillo, seeks consensus with Indians of Isiboro Secure Park to start construction of road through this park to which adamantly oppose the park's inhabitants.

COCHABAMBA, Bolivia.— Public Works Secretary, Walter Delgadillo said Wednesday that the government will try "by all means" to achieve a consensus agreement with the indigenous inhabitants of the Isiboro Sécure to start work on the road Villa Tunari-San Ignacio Moxos, which runs through this important ecological park and reservoir.

Delgadillo, told reporters:

"The contract exists, already have the financial resources to implement the project. It will progress slowly but surely. Altough we will constantly talk with the natives of the place."
Delgadillo said the contract with the Brazilian company OAS is a turnkey and ratified the Project even lacking the environmental card of the section two.
