21:23 07/05/2010 CARANAVI, Bolivia. — This afternoon the Bolivian police took the roadblock-La Paz-Caranavi-Palos Blancos. The release was ordered by the Bolivian Vicepresident Alvaro Garcia Linera. The operation was commanded by Sacha Llorenti Government Secretary, once fierce defender of human rights.
The population of Caranavi lost two of his sons who were killed by firearms. The police would have shot to blockers. One of the dead has his skull totally destroyed by a bullet.
Residents in an outburst of fury burned the police station and basic police school.
The police were quartered in Federico Román barracks established in the town of Caranavi.
