UN asks Prosecutor to consider Ombudsman and Human Rights Assembly reports in the Caranavi case

CARANAVI ROADB UNLOCK KILLINGS • The representative of the High Commissioner of United Nations to Bolivia, Denis Racicot, said yesterday that reports prepared by the Bolivian Ombudsman and the Permanent Human Rights Assembly of Bolivia should be taken into account by the prosecutor who is investigating the Caranavi case where two youngs were killed by shots of fire arms.

LA PAZ, Bolivia . — The research focuses on violence and two deaths in the road unlock police operation to the north of La Paz in early May.

Reports of Permanent Human Rights Assembly of Bolivia activists and the Ombudsman complicate the Minister of Government, Sacha Llorenti, and the Police Chief, Oscar Nina.

Carlos Fiorilo, a member of the committee of prosecutors investigating the case, said the commander Oscar Nina confirmed that no firearm was used in the the road unlock operation.

"The Commanding General of Police has given orders to not use lethal weapons in the road unlock."
But the two young men that appeared death David Callisaya Mamani (16) and Fidel Mario Hernany Jiménez (19) were because of shots of fire armsused only by the Police.
