Prosecutors ordered the arrest of the wife of former general René Sanabria Oropeza

NARCOTICS • Lourdes Nieves Nava would be involved as an alleged accomplice of her husband in the crime of drug trafficking. Sanabria's family defense said it was illegal.

LA PAZ, Bolivia .— The Prosecutor of La Paz Departament issued an arrest warrant against Lourdes Nieves Nava, wife of retired Gen. Rene Sanabria, former head of Bolivia's office for the fight against drug trafficking, now being held for drug trafficking in the United States.

La Paz district prosecutor Betty Yañíquez said:

"Investigators have known this authority exist three arrest warrants, one of them is for Lourdes Nieves Nava."
UNO TV Network reported that it would be for complicity.

René Sanabria Oropeza, former drug chief was arrested on February 24 for drug trafficking and was delivered to the United States where he face trial for the crime of drug trafficking with the possibility of being sentenced his whole life.

Angel Mercado, Sanabria's family lawyer, told the this newspaper Pagina Siete arrest warrant against Lourdes Nieves Nava is illegal, since it must be notified prior to a statement.
